How Does Cavitation Work to Remove Fat?

What is local slimming with cavitation? Exercising and physical activity along with a low-calorie diet will definitely lead to weight loss. But in some cases, such as when we want this to happen faster or to eliminate local fats that resist exercise and diet, we can use auxiliary methods to achieve this goal. Cavitation can be mentioned among these methods.

Always remember this point: these methods are auxiliary and cannot replace exercise or diet alone.

Cavitation is actually a non-surgical way to get rid of body fat. Ultrasound waves create shocks in body fat with their sound frequencies. Waves that human ear cannot hear, but it creates such a shock in fat tissue that they cannot resist. As a result, they are broken and become liquid, and then body prepares them for burning in body or excretion in liver.

How local slimming with cavitation works in the body:

By using this method, the broken cells go to liver and after a series of chemical changes and becoming combustible substances in muscles, they are excreted through urine or burned in muscles. Of course, this method is well characterized by physical activity and proper nutrition, including: low-fat and low-calorie meals. New devices that have been developed for this purpose are able to specifically target fat, especially fat that has a harder and more compact texture.

It is better to name the cavitation method as a body shaping method, because it not only removes fats, but can also give them desired shape. One of uses of this method is to shape parts of face. A smaller device specially made for facial tissues can lift cheeks, reduce hollows under eyes, puffiness of eyes and even wrinkles caused by aging or genetics. It also removes the fat under chin or double chin.

The difference between cryolipolysis and cavitation

Cryolipolysis is one of newest non-invasive local slimming devices which reduces volume of fat from treated area by using the cooling mechanism and cell freezing. By lowering the temperature of cooled area to minus 11 degrees, cryolipolysis removes fat cells from that area without damaging skin or other body tissues with help of immune cells. If cavitation uses very high frequency ultrasound waves, it causes tiny bubbles to form around fat cells. When these bubbles collide with fat cell wall and burst, it causes the cell wall to tear, the fat inside cells spills out, and water inside their cells comes out.

The number of cavitation sessions is more than the number of cryolipolysis device sessions. Cavitation is at least 10 to 12 sessions for each course, 1 to 2 times a week. But number of cryotherapy sessions is between 2 to 3 sessions with an interval of two to three months.

How Does Cavitation Work to Remove Fat?

People with high blood pressure, blood fat and diabetes cannot use cavitation method. But use of cryolipolysis in these people is not prohibited. Using cavitation device alone relaxes skin and does not lift it. However, by doing some sports and using other local slimming devices such as radiofrequency, the skin can be lifted, but cryolipolysis with lifting is very limited.

After cavitation, the patient should exercise to prevent fat deposition in other areas of body. However, after using cryolipolysis machine, there is no requirement to exercise, but you can do aerobic exercise for better results.

Cryolipolysis can only be used in fat tissue that is soft and absorbable and is not possible in hard tissue, while cavitation can be used for both soft and hard fat and cellulite.

Contraindications to the use of cavitation:

  • If you have high cholesterol levels (above 300), high triglycerides, or higher than normal blood pressure.
  • If you have just given birth, or are breastfeeding.

Does cavitation cause weight loss?

Cavitation is a method to reduce the size and shape of body, but it is not used as a weight loss method. However, by continuing the treatment and reducing noticeable sizes, as well as following a proper diet along with this method, weight loss may also occur.

What is the duration and method of cavitation treatment?

The size of area treated with cavitation determines the duration of each session and can usually vary from 30 minutes to an hour. A handheld device that transmits low-frequency ultrasonic energy. It glides gently over treated area and emits a gentle pulse. This treatment method does not require anesthesia and is non-invasive. It should be noted that the duration of treatment is different for each person and needs to be diagnosed by attending physician.

In case the patient's body responds to cavitation, it is necessary for each person to go through at least one full course of 8 to 12 sessions in order to achieve the best results. It is worth noting that the meetings will be weekly or twice a week. Changes can be seen from third session.

Remarkable cases in local slimming with cavitation

In cavitation method, fat cells are pressed with ultrasonic waves. The formation of bubbles inside these cells causes the rupture of fat cell membrane. As a result, the contents inside cell are thrown out and excreted through liver and urine.
